Olea Jacta Est’s Label Features A Fantastic Linocut Design | Dieline


Linocut is a printmaking approach created by slicing a design right into a linoleum floor with a pointy knife, then inked with a curler, after which impressed onto a paper or material. Designer Hula Estudio used this linocut approach for the packaging design for Olea Jacta Est’s olive oil. The fluid and natural design model was deliberately chosen to characterize the character of the olive bushes’ setting and the truth that they’re organically grown. The label designs are suave and eccentric, and the black and white scheme creates a sublime high quality for the model. Hula Estudio has designed a crafty twist on the everyday oil packaging.

To make the illustration, we resort to this engraving approach, which brings analog finishes to the design, wherein error and the hint of expertise, versus the “perfection” of digital finishes, end in a picture that may be very richer, perceived by the patron because the picture of a product ‘with soul’.
